HackTV is a basic video and audio capturing environment that will help to get you started
on your QuickTime adventure. (Of course, you need to have the capturing hardware)
The HackTV application windows do not clip the drawing. This means if you move the Monitor window, the grabbed image does not follow the window client. Same goes for various controls in the "settings" dialogs (slider controls, etc...). This behavior does not affect the ability to capture and will be fixed in a subsequent release.
To record a movie, select "Record" from the Monitor menu. The grabbed frames are recorded until you click anywhere in the main window. Upon success the resulting movie "Hack.mov" is written to the application directory.
